I feel very lucky to work and sell houses in the Wetherby area – right in the middle of the Golden Triangle of Leeds, York and Harrogate. I am also very happy to live in it too so would like to introduce you to …. Tockwith. I moved to the village in 2007 knowing that it had everything I needed for my young and growing family ……

Ranked 5th in the Yorkshire Post in 2015 as one of North Yorkshire’s most sought after villages to live, Tockwith is most picturesque and steeped in history. Being situated just 7 miles from both Wetherby and York and 19 miles from Leeds, it provides an excellent base for commuting throughout the Yorkshire region with the A1 being close by and only 10 minute drive.

The village has a regular bus service connecting Wetherby and York and also Cattal railway station is only 3 miles away. This connects to Harrogate and York and then further afield with York to Kings Cross, London in less than 2 hours. It is also only 23 miles to Leeds/Bradford Airport for further national and international travel.

The village offers a wealth of facilities including a well-stocked village shop with post office, hairdressers with beauticians, Doctors surgery and a Church offering lots of activities and services for all ages. There are 2 Public Houses and the village has an annual Beer Festival in June and Village Show in August.

The Village Hall hosts various clubs and groups including  : Art and Craft Clubs, Under 5’s, Adult Dance Classes, Tockwith Singers and Tockwith Players theatre group.

Tockwith Sportfield host a thriving Football Club from juniors to adults, a Bowling and Tennis Club.

The Tockwith Church of England Primary Academy School was classed as ‘Good’ in it’s recent Ofsted inspection in 2015. The adjoining ‘Tick Tock’ Daycare offers Nursery, Pre-school and Wrap around care for children from 3 months to 11 years. The village is in the catchment area for the highly regarded secondary schools of King James’ Knaresborough and Tadcaster Grammer School.
